DAVAO CITY -- The Kapa Alabel, METO Printers, and KAPA Housing entered the semifinals to join early qualifiers in the first KAPA Regional basketball tournament in Alabel, Sarangani on Wednesday.
The Gensan team is set to face Alabel while the Printers will collide with Housing. Alabel crushed KAPA Surigao, 59-26 in the first game on Wednesday.
The Printers, on the other hand, survived a late rally by Kapa Pantukan, 46-41. They took a 30-17 lead in the first half with ex-pro Jojo Tankay and Mustrata Arafat.
Pantukan, however, made a 39-36 rally midway through the second half. Tankay again showed his superb shots, 46-38. KAPA Housing showed too much firepower in demolishing KAPA Matan-ao, 57-34, in the third game.
With a 23-0 lead in the first half, the Housing never looked back.
The winners will play in the championship on Wednesday with the winner to receive PHP500,000 and the loser, PHP400,000. The third placer will get PHP300,000 and the fourth placer, PHP200,000. A consolation prize of PHP50,000 will go to all the other teams. (PNA)
