MANILA – The San Juan Knights took a commanding 2-1 lead in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Finals against the Davao Occidental Tigers with a 67-62 Game 3 win at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City on Tuesday night.
The Knights held the Tigers to just nine points in the final quarter to move to within a victory from claiming the championship.
Mike Ayonayon led San Juan, which can close out the series on Monday night back at home, with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Jhonard Clarito and John Wilson each chipped in 12 markers.
Bogs Raymundo made 15 points, five boards, one dime, and one steal for Davao Occ, which now has a daunting task of winning Game 4 to force a Game 5 back in Davao City on April 25. (PNA)
