2 teenagers, 4 others nabbed in Bacolod drug busts

BACOLOD CITY -- Six persons, including two teenagers, were arrested in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office on Wednesday.

Around 3 a.m., Rodmar Chuan, 29, and a 15-year-old boy were caught at Purok Arao, Barangay Vista Alegre after the former sold PHP1,000 worth of suspected shabu to an undercover policeman.

Police Station 8 operatives seized from the suspects three sachets of the same prohibited substance valued at PHP85,000 along with two .45-caliber pistols and drug paraphernalia.

Later in the day, high-value targets Erica Lim, 29; Hengie Ricarde, 22; Renny Escobar, 32, and a 19-year-old girl were arrested around 7 p.m. at Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago.

The operation, conducted by joint teams from the Regional Intelligence Division-Western Visayas, City Drug Enforcement Unit, and Bacolod City Mobile Force Company, led to the recovery of 16 sachets of shabu worth PHP606,000.

During the buy-bust, the police poseur-buyer was able to purchase PHP1,000 worth of shabu from the group.

The operatives also seized two .38-caliber revolvers and a Colt 9mm pistol loaded with three live ammunition.

The police said the suspects are facing charges for violation of both the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Commission on Elections’ gun ban. (PNA)
