MANILA -- Ceres Negros fought back late in the second half to shock Persija Jakarta, 3-2, and stay unbeaten in the AFC Cup at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on Tuesday night.

Ceres Negros came back from 0-2 down to edge Persija Jakarta on the road in a match that coincided with the Indonesian elections.

Sandi Sute opened the scoring for Jakarta in the 49th minute, while Bruno De Matos made it 2-0 eight minutes later.

Miguel Tanton suddenly turned what seemed like a smooth home sailing by Jakarta back into a game when he broke the ice for Negros in the 70th minute.

Bienve Maranon then tied the game in the 85th minute after slotting the ball in off a Stephan Schrock assist.

Mike Ott scored the game winner three minutes into stoppage time by scoring after another Schrock feed.

Negros remains perfect with 12 points after four matches, putting the club within a win from clinching a spot in the knockout stages.

Jakarta, on the other hand, remained in third place with four points, and the squad needs to sweep its remaining games in hopes of making the playoffs as well. (PNA)
