SMB blasts Phoenix in emotional semis Game 4

MANILA -- San Miguel bludgeoned Phoenix, 114-91, in Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay on Tuesday night.

In a highly emotional match that saw numerous technical and flagrant fouls as well as ejections, including a late second quarter commotion, the Beermen slowly pulled away from the Fuel Masters and went full throttle with a 30-15 third quarter.

Terrence Romeo had his best playoff performance for SMB, which now holds a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series, tallying 20 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one block off the bench.

Alex Cabagnot added 18 points, two rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

Matt Rosser had a solid all-around game with eight points, six rebounds, seven assists, five steals, and one block.

Calvin Abueva tallied 19 markers, 15 boards, three dimes, two swipes, and two swats for Phoenix.

The Beermen can close out the series in Game 5 on Thursday night.
