CAMP GEN ALEJO S. SANTOS, Bulacan -- A drug peddler was killed while three other suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted Thursday and early Friday morning in this province.

Colonel Chito G. Bersaluna, provincial director of Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified the neutralized suspect during the drug sting conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the City of San Jose Del Monte Police Station, as Rogelio Cual alias "Roger", who was included in the Philippine National Police-Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PNP-PDEA) unified drugs watch list.

Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr., police chief of the City of San Jose Del Monte, said the suspect engaged operatives in a shootout and was killed in the process following the consummated drug transaction.

"Visible in the crime scene were two caliber .38 revolvers and 11 pieces heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu," Castil said.

Meanwhile, Bersaluna identified the arrested suspects as Raymart Santos; Michael Bayra, who is included in the drug watch list of San Rafael Municipal Police Station; and Melchor Lopez alias "Ka Jess", who is in the PNP-PDEA drug watch list.

Confiscated from the three were eight medium and one small piece plastic sachet of dried marijuana leaves, two heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects are now facing charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination. (PNA)
