Cavite town bares 10 drug-cleared villages

SILANG, Cavite -- Local police here presented on Monday the 10 drug-cleared villages to the local chief executive during a simple ceremony at the town plaza.

Maj. Resty Soriano, acting police chief of Silang Municipal Police Station, presented the drug-cleared barangays to Mayor Emilia Lourdes "Omil" Poblete and Ma. Normita Arceo, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer-Silang.

The 10 villages have met the requirements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Drug Clearing Program of President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

The drug-cleared Villages are Barangays Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, Tubuan 1, Tubuan 3, Ulat, Carmen, Puting Kahoy, Lucsuhin, Balite 2, and Santol.

Each village chief of the 10 barangays received the certificate attested by PDEA that their areas are drug-free.

'We will do our best to add more on the list of drug-free barangay until all the villages here are drug-free," Soriano said.

There are 64 barangays in Silang, Cavite. (PNA)
