MANILA -- An early barrage from Bienve Maranon led Ceres Negros' charge as the club posted a 5-0 rout of Shan United in the AFC Cup at the Thuwanna YTC Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on Wednesday.

Maranon's hat trick was more than enough for Negros to pummel Shan, even as Carli De Murga and OJ Porteria scored late goals to add more damage.

Maranon scored the opening goal for Negros in the 38th minute before adding a second goal off a penalty in the 43rd minute as the club entered halftime 2-0 up.

He then completed the hat trick with a 71st minute goal for the 3-0 lead.

De Murga joined the fray with a goal in the 80th minute, while Porteria contributed off the bench with the dagger in the 85th minute.

It was basically all Negros all game long as the club had the ball 62 percent of the time, leading to 29 total shots with 15 on target.

The team also had 18 corner kicks as against only one by Shan.

The win moved the club up to 5-0 for 15 points, Negros clinched the top seed in Group G, which means an outright seat to the ASEAN Zone semifinals.

On the other hand, Shan remains winless after five games. (PNA)
