SMB ties Magnolia in PH Cup Finals

MANILA -- Junemar Fajardo posted dominating numbers as the San Miguel Beermen whipped Magnolia Hotshots, 114-98, in Game 4 of the Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday night.

Fajardo, who earlier in the night received his sixth Best Player of the Conference award for the tournament, made 31 points on 13-of-14 shooting, 13 rebounds, one assist, and one block for the Beermen, which quickly recovered from the Hotshots' hot start and never looked back.

Terrence Romeo added 18 points, four rebounds, and five assists off the bench, while Chris Standhardinger chipped in 13 markers, 14 boards, two dimes, two blocks, and two steals.

Jio Jalalon and Mark Barroca each had 22 points for Magnolia.

With the result, the best-of-seven series is now tied, 2-2, with Game 5 scheduled on Friday night at the same venue. (PNA)
