MANILA -- A pitch invasion marred Game 5 of the PBA Philippine Cup finals between Magnolia and San Miguel on Friday night.

A fan in a full Spider-Man costume ran to the court of the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City with 3:08 left in the game.

However, the fan bumped into Junemar Fajardo, momentarily shaking the latter.

Chris Ross confronted the fan by shoving him before security caught the latter, escorting him out of the playing area but not without one punch from Ronald Tubid.

Asked by reporters why he did that, the fan said, "Gusto ko lang magmahalan tayo (I just want everyone to love one another)."

Commissioner Willie Marcial opted not to name the fan, but word has reached multiple media outfits that he goes by the name, Paolo Felizarte.

During the abrupt break, however, another fan was seen confronting the Beermen's bench, and security also escorted him out of the venue.

Many claimed that the other fan was an accomplice of the costumed court invader, although he denied it.

Both fans were brought to the Quezon City Police Station 7 with “Spider-Man” being slapped with unjust vexation and alarm and scandal complaints.

Magnolia won over SMB, 88-86, on a buzzer-beating game-winner by Mark Barroca to give the former a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven finals.

The Hotshots can close out the series in Game 6 at the same venue on Sunday night, where heightened security is now expected. (PNA)
