CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan-- A suspected drug peddler was killed while five other suspects were arrested in various anti-illegal drugs operations of the Bulacan police Friday and early Saturday morning.

Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, provincial director of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office, identified the fatality as Abelardo Capulong alias Abelardo/Bigte, of Barangay Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan. Capulong was included in the drug watchlist of Pulilan Municipal Police Station.

Bersaluna said the suspect was killed in a buy-bust operation at around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday in Barangay Longos, Pulilan.

“After a consummated transaction, the suspect sensed that he was dealing with police and thereafter, a gunfight ensued that resulted in his death,” he said.

Bulacan Scene of the Crime Operatives team processed the crime scene and recovered one Armscor caliber .38 revolver loaded with two cartridges and three fired cartridge cases for caliber .38, five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, and PHP500 marked money.

Meanwhile, five other suspects were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations by operatives of Pandi, Bustos and Meycauayan municipal and city police stations.

Bersaluna identified the arrested drug suspects as Randal Roque, Roberto Bondoc Bunag, Annamarie Israel, Ricky San Juan, and Angelo Francisco.

Confiscated from them were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu, two cut-opened plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money.

He said the suspects and the seized pieces of evidence were brought to Bulacan Crime Laboratory for appropriate examination while criminal complaints for violation of Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Acts of 2002) are being prepared for filing in court.
