3 nabbed in Zambo City anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Three people were arrested while some PHP15,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, a police official said Monday.

Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Michael Amor, 27; Ibrahim Majid, 38; and, Berhamin Darong, 40.

Galvez said Amor was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 4 a.m. Sunday in Barangay San Jose Gusu, this city.

Seized from the possession of Amor were some PHP10,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in seven heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP200 marked money, police said.

Galvez said Majid and Darong yielded some PHP5,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in four heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP300 marked money when arrested in another buy-bust operation around 1:50 a.m. Monday in Barangay Kasanyangan, this city.

Galvez said the suspects were detained pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. (PNA)
