Bantamweight Mepranum to fight Chinese boxer in Macao

DAVAO CITY – Bantamweight Richie “Magnum” Mepranum of Sarangani will fight Sen Chen of China on June 1 at the Wynn Palace Cotai in Macao.

The 32-year-old Filipino boxer, who has a record of 33 wins, 7 losses, and 9 knockouts, scored a majority decision over Bukidnon’s Rodel Tejares in General Santos City in his last fight this year.

Chen with 11 wins, one loss, and 2 knockouts, beat Indonesian Ricky Manufoe by unanimous decision in the boxing event on May 26, 2018, in Beijing.

He also beat the Philippines Alan Aberca by unanimous decision on Feb. 28, 2018, in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) Silk Road Champions Tournament Junior featherweight final. (PNA)
