Gilas Youth pool to FIBA U19 WC bared

MANILA — US-based players Kai Sotto and AJ Edu headline the 14-man pool of Gilas Pilipinas Youth to the FIBA U19 World Cup in Heraklion, Greece.

As per the roster the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas submitted to the Greek Embassy for the trip to Heraklion for the said tournament, the 6-foot-10 Edu, who plays in the US NCAA, and the 7-foot-2 Sotto, who could either follow Edu's path of going college ball in America or accept offers to play pro in Europe, are among the players to watch out for Gilas Youth.

 The said pool was revealed on Sunday.

Joining the pool are Far Eastern University-FERN's Xyrus Torres, Nazareth School of National University's Gerry Abadiano, Carl Tamayo, Miguel Oczon, and Terrence Fortea.

University of Santo Tomas' Bismarck Lina; Ateneo's Geo Chiu; San Beda-Taytay's Rhayyan Amsali; Letran's Joshua Ramirez, National University's Dave Ildefonso, University of the Philippines' James Spencer, and Italian-based standout Dalph Panopio have also been listed.

The FIBA U19 World Cup will run from June 27-July 8. (PNA)
