Columbian shocks SMB in OT to keep playoff hopes alive

MANILA -- Columbian Dyip banked on hot performances from Lester Prosper and CJ Perez to stun San Miguel Beermen in overtime, 134-132, in the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday night.

Prosper dropped 40 points, while Perez added a career-high 34 for the Dyip, who prevailed in a neck-to-neck battle in the extra five minutes with the Beermen which came back from 14 points down to force overtime.

Rashawn McCarthy chipped in 27 points, 14 assists, and six rebounds for Columbian, which moved up to 2-6, keeping its playoff hopes alive.

Charles Rhodes made 26 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, one block, and one steal for SMB, which fell to an uncharacteristic 2-5 slate.

Junemar Fajardo chipped in 24 markers, 15 caroms, two dimes, and one block. (PNA)
