MANILA -- Martin Nguyen will once again defend his ONE Championship featherweight title at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City in the new main event of ONE: Dawn of Honor on August 2.

As announced on Wednesday, the Vietnamese-Australian champion will take on Japanese opponent Koyomi Matsushima.

Nguyen is just fresh from successfully defending the belt against Mongolian challenger Narantungalag Jadambaa at ONE: Roots of Honor last April 13 also at the MOA Arena.

Matsushima, on the other hand, won both his previous bouts under ONE Championship, the recent just last month at ONE: Legendary Heroes in Shanghai.

While Matsushima is a relative stranger to the Philippine mixed martial arts scene, he actually fought in the country on April 8, 2016 at Pacific Xtreme Combat at the Solaire Grand Ballroom in Paranaque City, losing via knockout to local MMA star Gab Dy.

The rest of the card, featuring the highly-anticipated battle between Eddie Alvarez and Eduard Folayang, remains intact barring last-minute changes. (PNA)
