MANILA — Rain Or Shine will bring in a new foreign reinforcement in its upcoming PBA Commissioner's Cup battle against Magnolia on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Elasto Painters are set to parade Carl Montgomery in their 4:30 p.m. game against the Hotshots in a battle between teams chasing a Top 6 finish in the eliminations.

Listed at six-feet-eight, Montgomery, who recently played in Malaysia, is expected to have a hard time inside against James Farr.

But coach Caloy Garcia is bullish on his new import, who replaced the injured Denzel Bowles.

“I think he can fill in some parts of the game that we need, especially that he has the quickness. We want to go back to the running game. At the same time, medyo magaling naman siyang dumepensa(he is better in defense)," Garcia said about what Montgomery can do.

Currently at 4-5, ROS needs to win its final two games including its last game against San Miguel on Saturday night to boost its chances of finishing within the third to sixth spots. This will keep the team away from the dreaded once-to-lose disadvantage in the quarterfinals.

However, Magnolia (5-4), SMB (3-5), and even Phoenix (4-5) are also looking for the Top 6 finish.

The Beermen and the Fuel Masters will clash in the main game of the Wednesday night twinbill at 7 p.m. (PNA)
