TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija - Four women, including two minors, were saved by authorities from a bar which is allegedly being used as a front for prostitution in Barangay Sampaloc here on Tuesday, police said.

Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito, town police chief, said two suspects identified as Marnitz Siobal, 26, of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan, and Richibier Sibayan, a resident of this town, were arrested for human trafficking.

Rescued were Daniella, 22, of Montalban, Rizal; Jane, 19, of Cabanatuan City; Jade, 16, and Alyana, 15, both of Sto. Domingo town.

Desamito said the operation was hatched after they confirmed that the suspects, including the floor manager of Triple C-2 Bar, allegedly offer the girls for sexual favor to customers.

"Sa halagang dalawang libong piso ay pwede nang ilabas ang babae (The girls can be brought outside the bar for PHP2,000)," she said, adding that the amount only represents bar fine.

"Aside from two of the women were minors, all of them got no health cards," Desamito said.

The town police chief recommended the closure of the establishment.

The victims, according to Desamito, were only told that they would work in a restaurant in this town.

The suspects, however, denied the charges. (PNA)
