DAGUPAN CITY -- Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) provincial office arrested two high-value targets (HVTs) and seized PHP340,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation here Tuesday.

Arrested in the Old de Venecia highway in barangay Lucao here were Nicanor ‘Boyet’ Palisoc and Roel Montero, considered as HTVs by both the police and PDEA-Pangasinan with their scope of operations reaching other towns such as Mangaldan, San Fabian, and Calasiao.

Members of the anti-drug group confiscated about 50 grams of suspected shabu, cellular phones, and a motorcycle used to carry out their operations.

It was revealed that the suspects were already under surveillance by PDEA-Pangasinan for a long time, but operatives had a hard time because of their constant movement.

“Among the two, Palisoc is elusive as he usually operates and deals drugs inside inns to evade arrest,” said the arresting officer affiliated with the PDEA, whose name was withheld for his protection.

With clues and hints in the suspects’ cellular phones, the authorities are now tracking their supplier’s whereabouts.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
