ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The city government has allocated PHP10 million for the construction of “Balay Silungan” to serve as a rehabilitation center for drug dependents in this southern port city.
Dr. Elmeir Apolinario, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) chief, said Saturday the Balay Silungan will be built soon in Barangay Pasonanca in this city.
Apolinario said the facility will be manned by personnel trained to assist drug dependents in rehabilitation.
He said the facility will be managed by the city, in partnership with other agencies of government involve in the rehabilitation of drug dependents.
“They will be totally rehabilitated to ensure they will no longer engage in the use of illegal drugs once they will be sent back to the community,” he said. (PNA)
