DIGOS CITY – Police arrested a public utility vehicle driver and his companion during a drug sting Wednesday night here.
Police Col. Ernesto Castillo, Digos City Police Station officer-in-charge, identified the suspects as PUV driver Jestonie Villaraza, 28; and Eric Dumdum Llapitan, 35.
Castillo said the two men were arrested in a buy-bust by Police Station 4 in Davao City and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) inside a mall in Barangay Zone-1.
Police Senior Master Sgt. Arsenio Limpangog, the officer on-case, said the operatives seized around 1.5 gram of suspected shabu from the suspects worth PHP15,000. The suspects also yielded a .22 caliber pistol and other non-drug items.
Police Col. Allan Manibog, Davao del Sur police director, said he has ordered all police stations in the province to intensify the campaign against the prohibited drugs, and to run after criminal elements "so that peace and order will be maintained at all times." (PNA)
