Caindog to fight for vacant WBO Global miniflyweight title

DAVAO CITY -- Orthodox fighter Jomar Caindog will fight Jing Xiang of China for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Global miniflyweight title on August 17 at the Shenzhen Bao'an District Sports Center in Shenzhen, China.

A native of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte, the 24-year old Caindog (10W-1L-1D, 4KO) won against Ryan Ralozo of Cagayan de Oro by a majority decision last April 30 in Sindangan.

He also settled a unanimous decision against Mike Kinaadman of Iligan last December 21.                                                        

On the other hand, the 29-year-old Xiang (16W-4L-2D, 3KO) retained his World Boxing Council Silver light flyweight title by a unanimous decision over Suriyan Satorn of Thailand last Suzhou, China last January 5.

Xiang earlier won the vacant WBC Silver light flyweight title by unanimously winning over Merlito Sabillo of Bacolod in Qinzhou, China last September 15, 2018.

Xiang also won the vacant World Boxing Organization Inter-Continental light flyweight by UD over Dexter Alimento of Iligan last January 20.

Meanwhile, Xiao Tao Su of China will collide with Shota Yukawa of Japan for the vacant WBO Oriental super featherweight title. (PNA)
