CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija -- The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has opened two Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) centers in two villages of the outskirt municipality of Talugtog, this province in an effort to bring its assistance and services closer to the grass roots of the communities.

Director of DTI 3 (Central Luzon), Judith Angeles, said the newly-opened NSBs were located in barangays Baybayabas and Cabiangan, Talugtog town where counseling and intensive assistance for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were conducted.

“The opening of the NSBs last Wednesday were preceded by a seminar on consumer rights and tips on establishing business to townsfolk,” Angeles said.

She said the establishment of NSBs is in line with President Rodrigo Duterte's order to push progress by creating businesses in the countryside.

"We are bringing the government closer to the people. Utos po kasi ni Presidente (Duterte) sa mga kanayunan (It is the directive of President Duterte for those in the countryside)," Angeles said, noting that the project serves as an extension of Go Negosyo centers in cities and municipalities.

The NSBs that process business name registration, among other services, are being set up in villages in fourth- to sixth-class municipalities.

The DTI targets to establish at least 62 of them in Central Luzon this year.

Talugtog Mayor Pacifico Monta welcomed the program, saying this will make business easier for his constituents. (PNA)
