COTABATO CITY -- The advisory council of the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12) has been adjudged as the best in the country and will be feted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on Aug. 2 in Manila.

“A very good news for all of us,” Cotabato City Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi , who heads Regional Advisory Council 12 (RAC 12), said in a statement Wednesday.

RAC 12 bested all other groups that provide advisory duties to the PNP at the regional level. Coming in second was RAC in Region 13 and RAC in the Cordillera in third place.

Guiani-Sayadi, a lawyer, has been the chair of RAC 12 for the past two years. It was during her term when the evaluation and assessment was conducted on the advisory body’s performance.

RAC helps implement the PNP Patrol Plan 2030, or PNP Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding of the Rule of Law (PATROL), the organization's strategy endeavors for real and lasting transformation through adaptation of the Balanced Scorecard as a management and measurement tool in order to attain its vision.

Guiani-Sayadi lauded all stakeholders, saying this feat will not be achieved without the help of various sectors in the region.

RAC acts as an advisory body that provides the much needed external perspectives and guidance on the key issues and concerns in the PNP Regional Office 12. It is composed of well-known leaders from the field of academe, media, local government unit, other government agencies, business, and youth sectors.

The awarding ceremonies will be held on August 2 at Camp Crame with Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año as the guest of honor and speaker. (PNA)
