ZAMBOANGA CITY – A total of 10 people were arrested while some PHP62,500 worth of illegal drugs seized in anti-drug operations in this city and in Basilan, officials said Thursday.
Lawyer Jacqueline de Guzman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director, identified the arrested suspects as Abdul Aziz Kudarat, 23; Amer Ladjul, 31; Abdulbayan Hassan, 36; Alih Wahid, 32; Glen Agdul, 18; Mike Maid, 19; Alkhan Ibrahim, 22; Nadzmir Jamiuddin, 32; Razmil Aspin, 38; and Alhamin Nee, 40.
De Guzman said Kudarat, a member of a drug syndicate, was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Sunrise, Isabela City, Basilan.
Kudarat yielded three grams of suspected shabu worth PHP20,400 and PHP1,000 boodle money topped with a genuine PHP500 used as buy-bust money and illegal drug paraphernalia, de Guzman said.
Maj. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, said Ladjul, Hassan, and Wahid were caught in possession of some PHP20,000 worth of suspected shabu when apprehended in a buy-bust operation around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay San Roque, this city.
Also confiscated from their possession were PHP200 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia, Galvez said.

Some PHP3,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money were seized from Maid when he was nabbed around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Recodo, this city, she said.
Ibrahim and Jamiuddin were caught in possession of some PHP2,300 worth of suspected shabu and PHP300 marked money in a buy-bust operation around 11 p.m. Wednesday along R.T. Lim Boulevard, Barangay Zone 1, police said.
Seized from the possession of Aspin were some PHP2,800 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when the latter was arrested around 11:50 Wednesday in Barangay Recodo, police said.
Nee was caught in possession of some PHP12,000 worth of suspected shabu when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Sta. Catalina, police said.
Nee also yielded a caliber .38 revolver with five live ammunition and PHP200 marked money, police said. (PNA)
