17 drug suspects fall in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Seventeen suspects were arrested by the police in different parts of this province on Saturday as part of their continuous campaign against illegal drugs.

Col. Chito G. Bersaluna, director of Bulacan Police Provincial Office, said eight of the suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted by the operatives in San Ildefonso, San Jose Del Monte, San Rafael, and Calumpit.

They were identified as Norma Plastina, Denmark Pelegrino, Benjamin Mallari Jr., Junar Recacho, Rolando Joson, Marcelino Rodriguez, Alvin Cangayo, and Fyszar Balladares.

Another eight drug suspects were caught in shabu sessions in the cities of San Jose Del Monte and Meycauayan, identified as Crizandro Tibayde, Joseph Bisnar, Jhon Jhon Dingcong, Jomarie Ruizo, JR Balbagyo, Miguel Manuel Paler, Ricardo Tiglao Jr., and Meldrin Plamenco.

Meanwhile, another suspect identified as Reynaldo Angeles was arrested by elements of San Miguel police during a checkpoint operation.

Bersaluna said a total of 22 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, one cut open plastic sachet of suspected shabu, assorted drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money were confiscated from all the suspects during the operations.

The arrested suspects and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for appropriate examination.

Criminal complaints for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) are now being readied for filing against them in court. (PNA)
