DAVAO CITY--The city government of Tagum in Davao del Norte officially launched on Monday the 2019 Tagum City Youth Festival.

Anchored on the theme, "Power. Purpose. Impact", the event is spearheaded by the City Youth Development Office, in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan Pederesyon of Tagum and the City Youth Development Council.

Jacqueline De Asis, Tagum City Youth Development Coordinator, bared that they have lined-up various activities from August 5 up to August 12, including the neon night run event, the digital disk jockey competition, and other youth-centered activities that the Tagumenyo young people can participate.

De Asis said the festival is in line with City Ordinance No. 811, S-2017, which declares every second week of August as the Tagum City Youth Festival. She said the festivities are also connected to the  International Youth Day celebration.

“We are happy with the support of the city government to our thrust and our mayor encouraged the youth to do its best for public service,” she said.

As part of the weeklong festival, he said the city's youth groups also conducted a medical mission for hundreds of Indigenous Peoples (IP) late last week. (PNA)
