KIDAPAWAN CITY – Anti-narcotics agents and policemen arrested Tuesday a suspected big-time drug peddler in Pikit, North Cotabato.

Backed by local policemen, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 12 arrested Fahad Edwin Manukil, 23, during the 10 a.m. drug buy-bust operation in Sitio Manding, Barangay Gli-gli, Pikit.

PDEA-12 Director Naravy Duquiatan, who led the operation herself, said Manukil was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu weighing about 50 grams with an estimated street market value of PHP340,000 to a poseur-buyer.

While PDEA agents were conducting processing and inventory of items seized from Manukil, his mother-in-law, identified as Romelyn Quenonez interfered and tried to stop law enforcers from performing their duties, Duquiatan said.

She said PDEA agents were also forced to arrest Quenonez as well on charges of obstruction of apprehension of a suspected criminal.

Quenonez and her son-in-law are currently detained at the Pikit municipal police station pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. (PNA)
