'Drug pushers' nabbed in Dumaguete buy-bust

DUMAGUETE CITY – Two suspected drug pushers were arrested early Tuesday during a police buy-bust operation at Real Street in Barangay Poblacion 8 here.

A report from the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) identified the suspects as Kevin John Delayco Kalubiran, 23, single, of Purok Panaghiusa, Real Street, and John Belmor Moreno Cordoba, 22, single, a resident of Barangay Tinago, all in this capital city.

Both suspects were arrested during a buy-bust operation around 4 a.m. at Purok Panaghiusa, Real Street, after they allegedly sold suspected shabu to an undercover operative.

Seized from them were more or less eight grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of PHP54,400.

Both suspects are included in Dumaguete City Police Station’s watch list of suspected drug personalities.

The operating team was composed of personnel from the City Drug Enforcement Unit, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Regional Special Operations Group and the Provincial Special Operations Group, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Oriental.

The suspects are now under detention pending the filing of charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
