Salva to fight Taduran for vacant IBF world minimumweight title

DAVAO CITY--Undefeated Samuel "Silent Assassin" Salva of Iligan City will fight against dangerous Pedro "Rattle Snake" Taduran of Valenzuela City for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) World minimumweight title on September 7 in Taguig City.

The 22-year old Salva (17W-0L, 10KO) scored a unanimous decision against Zamboanga's Rene Mark Cuarto last March 23 in Pasay City. He earlier TKO'd Ipil's Jason Mopon last Nov. 25 in Iligan City.

Salva also TKO'd Marco John Rementizo of Cagayan de Oro City to win the MinProba minimumweight title last Oct. 15 in Robinson's Place Iligan.

Taduran, on the other hand, has 13 wins with 10 knockouts against two losses. He knocked out Jeffrey Galero of Cagayan de Oro in the 2nd round to retain the Philippine minimumweight title last Dec. 18 in Pangasinan.

The 22-year old Taduran lost by a unanimous decision to Chayaphon Moonsri of Thailand for the WBC World minimumweight title on Aug. 29, 2018.

Meanwhile, flyweight Giemel "Pistolero" Magramo (23W-1L-0D, 19KO) of Paranaque will face Komgrich Nantapech (25W-5L-0D, 16KO) of Thailand in the undercard. (PNA)
