MANILA – Flooding and riverside erosion are possible during the 24-hour period ending 5 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 11) in parts of Pampanga and Bulacan provinces of Central Luzon where State forecasters expect the southwest monsoon or "habagat" to further bring rains.

Candaba, San Luis, San Simon, Apalit, Masantol, Macabebe, Calumpit, Hagonoy and Paombong towns as well as Malolos City face possible flooding and riverside erosion, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned Tuesday.

PAGASA said below-knee flood waters can strike such areas due to rain water that may accumulate/pond in low-lying and poorly drained locations as well as high tide along riversides and coastal places there.

Such conditions may also cause flooding in Sasmuan, Guagua, Lubao, Minalin, Sto. Tomas, Mexico, San Fernando City, Floridablanca and other adjacent towns, it said.

The public and local disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned must prepare accordingly, noted PAGASA. (PNA
