2 'pushers' killed, 9 others nabbed in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- Two unidentified drug pushers were killed and nine other suspects were arrested in different police operations conducted in this province on Tuesday.

Col. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan provincial police director, said the two neutralized suspects were still unidentified as of posting time while their cohort identified as Ednumzug De Guzman, 36, resident of Barangay Manggahan, Sta. Maria town, was arrested.

Bersaluna said based on the report, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-NCR-Camanava) coordinated with Sta. Maria police asking for a blocking force in their operation.

Report said the suspects were on board a Montero Sports SUV with plate conduction sticker No. 030110 and gray-colored Honda.

He also said that the suspects agreed to meet up with the operatives in Sta Maria.

"The suspects sensed that they were dealing with police operatives and fired at the operating team, who retaliated that resulted in the death of two unidentified suspects and the arrest of the other one," he said.

Recovered from the scene were firearms, hand grenade, an undetermined amount of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, eight other suspects were arrested in different buy-bust operations conducted by the anti-illegal drug operatives of Norzagaray, San Jose Del Monte, and Santa Maria.

They were identified as Emmanuel Borac, Archy Lee Pioroda, Philip Terona, Jade Riosa, Marlon De Jesus, Aiza Samudyo, Annalie Tolin, and Rolly Ligao.

A total of 24 plastic sachets of shabu and buy-bust money were confiscated from the suspects during the operations.

He added that appropriate criminal charges against the suspects are now being prepared for filing in court. (PNA)
