COTABATO CITY – The Maguindanao provincial government and the provincial board have welcomed a member of the Teduray tribe who will be representing the indigenous peoples (IP) in the provincial legislative body.

Nilo Oro Mosela, 45, of Upi, Maguindanao, took his oath before Maguindanao Governor Bai Meriam Sangki-Mangudadatu at the Maguindanao provincial capitol extension office in Buluan, Maguindanao on Monday.

As IP mandatory representative, Mosela vowed to promote the interest of IPs as mandated by his position.

“First my appreciation to Gov. Meriam Mangudadatu for her recognition of my capability as a provincial lawmaker,” Mosela said in a statement.

“I will support all programs that Gov. Mangudadatu will benefit, not only my tribe but the whole people of Maguindanao,” he added in the vernacular.

Mangudadatu, meanwhile, also assured the IPs in Maguindanao that their voices will always be heard in all levels of governance “as long as I am your governor.”

In the same event, the lady governor also administered the oath of office to the newly elected officials of Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL) Maguindanao chapter, led by its president and Councilor Datu Bagets Ampatuan of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. (PNA)
