BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform in Caraga Region (DAR-13) will facilitate the distribution of Certificates of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) to 770 farmers in the Agusan del Sur town of Santa Josefa on Tuesday (October 22).

The CLOAs will cover around 1,024 hectares of agricultural land in Agusan del Sur, particularly in the municipalities of Veruela, Trento, Bunawan, and Santa Josefa, said Jamil Amatonding Jr., Agusan del Sur Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II.

A total of 169 hectares of agricultural land in Santa Josefa will be covered by the CLOA distribution, 318 hectares in Veruela, 287 hectares in Trento, and 219 hectares in Bunawan, Amatonding told the Philippine News Agency on Monday.

Amatonding added that a 4.1-kilometer farm-to-market-road will also be turned over in Santa Josefa during the distribution activity, benefiting thousands of agrarian reform beneficiaries in the area.

DAR Secretary John Castriciones and other top officials from DAR central office are expected to attend the activity.

The CLOA distribution in Agusan del Sur will be the second activity of DAR in allocating land titles to farmers in Caraga this month, said DAR-13 Regional Director Leomides Villareal in an interview Monday.

On October 9, DAR-13 distributed around 1,067 hectares of agricultural land to 766 farmers in the Province of Dinagat Islands. (PNA)
