Zambo cops nab 3 newly-identified 'drug personalities'

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Operatives of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) have arrested three newly-identified drug personalities in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, an official announced Monday.

Maj. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as George Iglesia Munar, 41; Jude Absari Espinosa, 20; and, Comradz Sabatal Asula, 42.

Galvez said Munar and Espinosa were arrested by operatives of ZCPO’s Police Station 4 in a buy-bust operation around 12:30 a.m. Sunday in Barangay Canelar, this city.

Munar and Espinosa yielded some PHP6,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in five heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP200 marked money, police said.

Asula, meanwhile, was arrested in another drug bust by operatives of ZCPO’s Police Station 8 around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in Sitio Pasay, Barangay San Roque, police said.

Asula was caught in possession of some PHP5,300 worth of suspected shabu packed in six heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP300 marked money, police said.

Galvez said that charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
