DAVAO CITY — Two persons died in a vehicular accident in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur on Wednesday afternoon.
The two victims were identified as Jose Osayan Mompil Jr, 42; and his passenger Arnel Lira, 43; both workers of Franklin Baker and residents of Barangay Zone 2, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.
The victims' motorcycle was accidentally side swiped by a Toyota Hi-Ace commuter van driven by Erwin Tampipi Uno, a resident of Kiamba, Sarangani Province.
Initial investigation of the Santa Cruz Municipal Police station disclosed that both vehicles were travelling towards the same southbound direction when the incident happened around 1:20 p.m. on November 6.
Lira and Mompil sustained injuries on different parts of their body causing their death.
The van driver is now temporarily held at Santa Cruz Police station for further investigation and proper disposition of the case. (PNA)
