GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Police and anti-drug operatives arrested a target-listed pusher and two other drug personalities in separate operations in two villages here on Wednesday night.

Naravy Duquiatan, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 12 (Soccsksargen), said in a report on Friday that the suspects were nabbed in an entrapment and follow-up operation in barangays Labangal and Tambler.

Duquiatan said a joint team from PDEA-12 and the city police station number 2 arrested tricycle driver Jemar Aradais Pulalon, 35, at about 6:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Purok Pandian, Labangal after selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth PHP1,000 to an
undercover operative.

In a subsequent search, the suspect, who was included in the target list of PDEA-12, yielded two more sachets of shabu, weighing about 1.5 grams with an estimated street value of PHP10,200, she said.

In coordination with the local police, Duquiatan said they launched a follow-up operation at about 8:30 p.m. at a house in Purok Diamond, Tambler against Pulalon’s alleged shabu supplier, identified as Joey Juario.

She, however, said the suspect managed to escape after reportedly seeing the approaching operatives.

The operating team arrested the owner of the house, identified as businessman Edwin Bernardino Gacote II, 32, and a companion, street vendor Norsalyn Agsak Pulalon, 25, after allegedly being caught in possession of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

“They were found having a shabu session during the operation,” Duquiatan said.

Recovered at the scene were 15 sachets of shabu weighing about 5 grams, valued at PHP34,000, four empty sachets of shabu, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Duquiatan said Jemar, who has been detained along with the other two suspects at the PDEA-12 lockup, would be charged with violation of Section 5 (sale) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs), under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Edwin and Norsalyn will face charges for violation of Sections 11 and 12 or possession of dangerous drugs and paraphernalia. (PNA)
