'Ramon' stays near Casiguran, Aurora, bringing rains to PH

MANILA -- Tropical Storm Ramon remained almost stationary at 440 km. east of Casiguran, Aurora early Saturday and will continue to bring rains and thunderstorms in large parts of Luzon and the Visayas.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that "Ramon" has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

It will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Cagayan Valley, Bicol, and Western Visayas regions, and the provinces of Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Samar, the weather bureau said.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to the Ilocos and the rest of the Cordillera regions.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. (PNA)
