GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Police arrested a former Overseas Filipino Worker-turned-drug courier from Maguindanao province and
seized suspected shabu with a street value of more than PHP200,000, in an operation in a housing village here Tuesday afternoon.

Maj. Benhur Catcatan, chief of the City Police Station 3, identified the suspect as Mina Abas Pindaliday, 26, who hails from
Barangay Labu-labu in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao.

Catcatan said Pindaliday was nabbed during an entrapment at the vicinity of the Digos-Makar highway, Villa Consuelo Subdivision in Barangay City Heights past 2 p.m. Tuesday.

He said an undercover operative managed to purchase two large packs of shabu worth PHP30,000 from her using a PHP1,000 marked bill and “boodle money”.

Catcatan said Pindaliday yielded in a subsequent search at least four more large plastic packs containing suspected shabu.

He said the recovered shabu weighed a combined 30 grams with an estimated street value of PHP204,000.

“Based on intelligence reports, she already made at least three major deliveries in the city prior to her arrest,” Catcatan said in an interview.

Pindaliday, he said, reportedly obtained shabu supplies from a certain “Tol” who is based in Maguindanao.

Lt. Felix Minion III, deputy chief of City Police Station 3, said Pindaliday reportedly used “Pera Padala” and other money transfer services to pay her source and in transactions with buyers from the area.

“(She) is considered a high-value target based on the extent of her illegal drug transactions and the volume of the recovered shabu,” he said.

Pindaliday, who is detained at the police station lockup, will be charged with violation of sections 5 and 11 or selling and possession of dangerous drugs, under Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
