DAVAO CITY -- The Davao del Sur Police Provincial Office (DSPPO) mandatory drug test conducted from October 9 to November 26 yielded a 100 percent negative result among all personnel.

In a statement on Wednesday, DSPPO said the coverage of the drug test included personnel from the nine municipal police stations and lone city police station in Digos City.

DSPPO said the test is in line with the ‘internal cleansing’ program of the Philippine National Police (PNP) which was crafted in order to ensure the organization and its personnel are drug-free.

"Our Internal Cleansing Program is on-going and still continuing and I am glad to say that all our personnel had negative result,” said Col. Alberto Lupaz, DSPPO provincial director.

Lupaz vowed that under his leadership, police personnel will set an example to the citizenry by not engaging into illegal drug activities as a support to the anti-drug campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“More so that the effort now lies to our uniformed personnel who made majority of the labors and exertions to make destroying illegal drugs possible,” Lupaz said. (PNA)
