Agri, infra damage for 'Tisoy' rises to P5.4-B

MANILA -- Damage to agriculture and infrastructure caused by Typhoon "Tisoy" (Kammuri) has climbed to PHP5.45 billion, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday.

In its update, the NDRRMC said the amount is significantly higher than the PHP4.589 billion worth of damage reported on Monday.

The report signed and released by NDRRMC executive director Ricardo Jalad, said damage was recorded in Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas regions.

Also, a total of 394,754 infrastructures were reported damaged in Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Caraga.

The NDRRMC also reported that 121 road sections and four bridges were affected by the typhoon, of which 10 road sections and two bridges are still not passable as of this posting. (PNA)
