BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Agriculture in Caraga Region (DA-13) opened its One-Stop Agribusiness Center (OSAC) on Tuesday at the DA compound here.

The center will accommodate regional products and also serve as an information center for agribusiness matters in the region.

In his message during the opening activity, DA-13 regional executive director Abel James Monteagudo called on the agriculture stakeholders in Caraga to take advantage of the center.

Monteagudo said OSAC will serve as a showroom and one-stop-shop center for regional agricultural products.

Monteagudo also encouraged the attached agencies of DA-13 to utilize the center that will serve as a venue for the agency to directly connect with the farmers and their products.

Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) chief Lynn Pareñas also told the participants that OSAC services will include the provision of the needs of small and medium producers, food processors, agribusiness entrepreneurs and investors, and to assist agri-entrepreneurs with the marketing and promotion of new and emerging agri-food products.

Pareñas said the center will also supply information on market trends and demands; monitor basic commodity prices, and offer investment opportunities in agribusiness and organize meetings to link producers and processors with buyers.

OSAC, she added, will also serve as a venue for training and lectures to farmers and entrepreneurs to enhance their skills and capabilities. (PNA)
