TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan -- Thousands of Cagayanos took a respite from days of suffering due to floods last November and early this month when they were treated to a drone light show at the SM Downtown here on Saturday night.

Various shapes were formed by white, blue, red and green lights coming from 25 performing drones, operated by their owners.

The light show was synchronized with Christmas songs and soundtracks of Marvel movies.

"People were amazed as they videotaped or photographed the lights formed by drones up in the sky,” Gerina Torno, mall public relations officer, said.

The event was an avenue to relax amid the floods that affected the villagers, according to Mary Gacutan, one of the drone show spectators.

"This is a respite for us as we rebuild from the floods that we had suffered," she added.

Early this December, some 66,000 Cagayanos were affected by one of the worst flooding incidents to hit northern Philippines in decades, as a result of continuous monsoon rains and a string of storms. (PNA)
