GENERAL SANTOS CITY – A “notorious” drug pusher was killed in an alleged shootout with police operatives in a village here on Thursday night.

Chief of the Police Regional Office 12’s (Soccsksargen) drug enforcement unit, Lt. Col. Alex Joe Orcajada, said Friday suspect Randy Dalogdog, 26, was shot by authorities after reportedly resisting arrest during a buy-bust operation at about 9 p.m. in Barangay Apopong.

Prior to the encounter, Orcajada said they managed to buy a sachet of suspected shabu during an entrapment.

He said Dalogdog, who was also a tricycle driver, noticed the presence of police operatives and attempted to escape.

“He drew a handgun and fired at our operatives, so they were forced to retaliate,” Orcajada told reporters.

Dalogdog, who was declared dead at the Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital, yielded a caliber .38 revolver, ammunition, and six sachets of suspected shabu.

Orcajada said Dalogdog was in the target list of the city police’s drug enforcement unit.

“According to intelligence reports, he was also involved in robbery activities,” he said. (PNA)
