3 HVIs, 13 others nabbed in series of drug busts in Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY -- A total of 16 persons, including three high-value individuals (HVIs), were arrested during a five-day buy-bust operation conducted by personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

Col. Henry Biñas, city police director, on Thursday said the arrests and confiscations are part of the sustained operations of the station drug enforcement teams.

The buy-bust missions were carried out from January 26 to 30. “We are intensifying our operations,” he added.

On Thursday at 4:30 a.m., operatives of Police Station 1 apprehended three suspects, including Alex Tulmo, 37, an HVI; Frezel Anne Erespe, 24; and Jonathan Barrios, 58, in Purok Golaluma 2, Barangay 25.

The suspects yielded 19 sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP70,000 after an undercover policeman bought PHP500 worth of the prohibited substance.

Operatives also seized a .38-caliber revolver without serial number with four rounds of live ammunition along with several drug paraphernalia.

On Wednesday, former drug surrenderer Rish Ivan Javier and companion Ryan Libre were arrested by personnel of Police Station 2 around 10 p.m. in Purok Ylac, Barangay 1.

They yielded five sachets of shabu valued at PHP80,000 after selling PHP300 worth of the same substance to a poseur-buyer.

About three hours earlier, Ives Pelowa, 33, surrendered a sachet containing 4.5 grams of shabu worth PHP45,000 after he attempted to end his life by climbing up a transmission tower in Purok Paraiso, Barangay Mansilingan.

After a lineman helped him come down, he was brought to the barangay hall and yielded the illegal drugs.

Just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, suspects Jose Godinez, Wilfredo Apod, and Loderico Palic, were arrested in Purok Sulom 2, Barangay Villamonte.

Operatives of Police Station 4 seized five sachets of shabu with a street value of PHP18,000 and a .38-caliber revolver with two pieces of live ammunition.

Around 2:30 p.m. on the same day, Wilton Capunong, 40, was caught red-handed selling shabu worth PHP200 to an undercover policeman in Purok Star Apple II, Barangay 27.

He also yielded the same prohibited substance valued at PHP25,000.

On Tuesday, operatives of Police Station 1 arrested Jobal Rojo, 22, an HVI, and companion Ruel Salmingo in Purok Masinadyahon, Barangay 12.

They seized from the suspects 13 sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP28,000.

On Monday, three suspects, including Roberto Cerillo, 39, a street-level pusher; Choe Demerin, 29; and Jan Rey Pabon, 20, were arrested in Progreso Village 1, Barangay Vista Alegre.

Around 9:10 p.m., operatives of Police Station 2 swooped down on an area in Block 51, Zone 3 and seized five sachets of shabu worth PHP40,000.

Around 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, Johnny Ape, 49, also an HVI, was caught red-handed selling PHP300 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer in Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision, Barangay Alijis.

The suspect also yielded four sachets of shabu valued at PHP30,000. (PNA)
