ZAMBOANGA CITY -- The Philippine Statistics Authority-9 (PSA-9) said it is hiring 345 additional workers to assist during the month-long census on population, which starts on May 4 this year.
Condrad Sontillano, Statistical Operation and Coordination Division chief, said Wednesday 175 of the 345 will serve as Statistical Researcher (SR) or enumerators and Assistant Census Area Supervisor (ACAS) here, while the remaining 170 will act as SRs in the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Zamboanga del Norte.
The SRs are the ones who will go on a house to house survey. They consist of teachers and the additional workers who will be hired as augmentation personnel.
The ACAS, meanwhile, will be the ones who will supervise the census.
Sontillano said they are also finalizing with the Department of Education (DepEd) as to the exact number of teachers who will also take part in the census on population.
Previously, they tapped the assistance of some 3,300 teachers for the census in the region.
The 2020 census on population is anchored on the theme “Sama na, Census na!” (PNA)
