CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga  The Clark International Airport (CRK) is fully operational amid the suspension of domestic air travel to and from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from March 15 to April 14.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced Thursday evening various measures including the ban on domestic flights and sea and commercial land travel in and out of Metro Manila as part of the government's effort to combat the spread of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Teri Flores, Luzon International Airport Development (LIPAD) corporate communication head, said on Friday the operation of CRK remains normal despite the cancellation of some international flights.

“We will keep the public informed should there be relevant announcements that will affect the travel plans of all passengers using Clark International Airport,” Flores said in a statement.

As a precautionary measure, LIPAD, which manages the operations of CRK, has introduced a new set of thermal scanners in all terminal entrances to monitor passengers’ body temperature upon arrival at the premises of the aviation complex.

LIPAD also introduced new measures and disinfecting techniques, as well as increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting high traffic and high contact areas within the terminal to ensure the safety of all passengers, visitors, and airport workers. (PNA)
