PH stock market on shortened trading during MM quarantine

MANILA – The Philippines’ bourse will have a shortened trading session starting March 16 up to April 14, 2020, in line with the community quarantine for Metro Manila from that started March 15.

In a memorandum issued by the Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. dated March 15, 2020, pre-open trading for March 16 will be at 9 a.m. and the market open will be 9 a.m. Pre-close will be at 12:45 p.m., run-off or trading, at last, will be 12:50 p.m. a.m. and trading close will be at 1 p.m.

The pre-open trading and market open schedule for Monday is the same as before the government implemented the Metro Manila-wide measure against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

For the succeeding trading days until April 14, pre-open will be at 8:30 a.m.; the market open is 9 a.m.; pre-close is 12:45 p.m.; run-off/trading, at last, is 12:50 p.m., and market close is 1 p.m.

The memorandum said “PSE will make the appropriate announcement in case there will be further updates on the shortened trading schedule.”

Relatively, all counters in the local bourse opened Monday’s trading on the red.

As of 9:40 a.m., the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) is down by 7.14 percent, or 413.43 points, to 5,380.51 points.

All Shares is lower by 5.22 percent, or 182.35 points, to 3,311.29 points. (PNA)
