BALER, Aurora – The provincial government here has limited the entry and exit hours for all inbound and outbound motorists.

Acting Governor Christian Noveras cited the need to regulate the entry and exit hours to properly screen and monitor the motorists while giving the personnel in monitoring stations to rest.

Noveras, in his executive order, said the entry and exit hours for motorists shall only be from 5:01 a.m. until midnight.

“Motorists shall not be allowed to pass through the monitoring stations from 12:01 a.m. until 5 a.m.,” he said.

The governor earlier issued an executive order prohibiting temporarily the entry of tourists and non-residents to the province to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

He also imposed a temporary suspension of all tourism activities in the province.

However, he said exempted from the travel restrictions are those who will deliver food and non-food supplies which are considered basic commodities provided they observe strict preventive measures by the Department of Health (DOH).

Those non-residents who will provide basic services, utilities and materials, and non-residents who are government employees may also be allowed to enter if the purpose of their visit is for official government transactions and those traveling for medical and humanitarian reasons.

Elson Amado Egargue, chief of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), said on Thursday the provincial government is exerting efforts to implement strict quarantine measures in the 151 barangays.

He said residents are required to have a quarantine pass, containing their identification and place of residence.

“Residents coming in from other places both in public and private vehicles, must present pre-filled out forms indicating their names, addresses, contact numbers, date and time of travel, seat number, and bus numbers, among others,” Egargue said.

To date, he said there is no confirmed Covid-19 case in the province.

He said based on the DOH records, there are 1,239 persons under monitoring (PUMs) and 18 patients under investigation (PUIs).

He reminded the residents to follow ordinances, including the 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew implemented in all barangays of the province’s eight municipalities.

The PDRRMO chief lauded the efforts of the province's security forces, local government units, and barangay officials in making the province free from Covid-19. (PNA)
