MARIVELES, Bataan — An upland barangay here has started distributing food packs and alcohol to alleviate the plight of villagers undergoing enhanced community quarantine due to the new coronavirus disease (Covid–19).

Al Balan, barangay chairman of Alion, this town, last Saturday started the distribution of relief goods right to the doorsteps of residents so that they no longer have to go to the barangay hall.

Members of the Sangguniang Barangay and barangay tanod or watchmen assisted in the distribution.

Aside from the canned goods, noodles and rice, some donors gave dried and even fresh fish that Balan immediately shared to the villagers.

The barangay chair thanked all the donors including Col. Ronald Almirol, Mariveles police chief.

“Thank you for immediately giving assistance to our barangay in this time of crisis,” Balan said.

He said the target of their distribution of relief goods are 1,150 families who are affected by the community quarantine.

The barangay, he said, is strictly implementing no passage to those without barangay quarantine pass.

“Please stay at home,” he asked villagers. (PNA)
